Cayo Largo se encuentra al sur y casi en el centro del archipielago cubano, es uno de los ultimos parajes virgenes que quedan en la Tierra.

Cayo Largo is in the South Central region of the Cuban Archipelago, one of the last virgin spots left on the planet.  Here Nature was prodigal in its gifts:  beaches and more beaches in its 17 miles (27 Km) of length.  But as if surrounding it with fine white sands was not enough.  Cayo Largo was given the gift of being eternally caressed by clear and gentle water of incredible hues of blue.

Seis hermosas playas tiene esta isla, para hacer de sus sueños una realidad:

PLAYA SIRENA

Es la que posee las aguas mas tranquilas.  Tambien es la mas hermosa.  Esta ubicada al oeste y protegida de vientos y oleajes.

PLAYA LINDAMAR

Pequeña, acogedora, privada, esta ubicada en una inflexión de la costa en forma de concha y enmarcada por rocas blancas.

PLAYA BLANCA

La más extensa del cayo, con peñones que rodean el mar, y forman apartados recodos que crean la ilusión de estar viviendo realmente en una isla totalmente desierta.

PLAYA LUNA

De aguas muy tranquilas y arenas firmes que, van descendiendo en una suave pendiente submarina.

PLAYA COCOS

Así llamada por los cocoteros que le dan sombra, bajo estos se encuentran los mástiles de antiguos naufragios.  Tiene aguas bajas a lo largo de cuatro kilómetros, fondos arenosos y rocas coralinas.

PLAYA TORTUGAS

Su principal atractivo radica en que es el lugar elegido por centenares de quelonios para desovar en sus apacibles arenas, constituyendo así una especie de reservario de tortugas.

El buceo en Cayo Largo es muy atractivo por su inalterada y protegida barrera coralina de mas de 30 km de extension.  En sus aguas transparentes y de gran visibilidad se han realizado varias competencias internacionales de fotografia submarina (FOTOSUB), debido a la riqueza marina y al multicolor paisaje subacuatico, en los que resaltan los corales y sobre todo el coral negro que se encuentra a menos de 35m de profundidad.

Cayo Largo has six wonderful beaches to make your dreams come true:

PLAYA SIRENA

This is the one with the placid waters, the beautiful one on the western side where it is protected from the wind and surf.

PLAYA LINDAMAR

Small, cozy and private, located on a shell-shaped inflection on the  coast and flanked by white rocks.

 

PLAYA BLANCA

This is the longest one with crags jutting out into the sea to form tiny coves that make you feel completely alone on a desert island.

PLAYA LUNA

It has quiet waters and a sandy bottom that slopes off in a soft underwater incline.

PLAYA COCOS

It is so called for the shady coconut palms reaching over the frame and mast of an ancient shipwreck.  Its waters are shallow and its four kilometers of sand are spotted with coral rocks

PLAYA TORTUGAS

Its great attraction is the arrival of hundreds of sea turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs in the warm sands making the beach a kind of natural preserve where the gentle giants find refuge.

Scuba diving on Cayo Largo is particularly attractive around the protected and unaltered coral reef that expands for more than 19Mi (30Km).  Its incredibly transparent waters have attracted several underwater photography competitions (PHOTOSUB) thanks to the marine life, the multi-colored underwater seascape and corals, esperially the rare black coral, which can be found at a depth of less the 110 feet (35m).
