The 1954 Literature Nobel Prize winner, Ernest Hemingway, seaman and indefatigable
sport fisherman, lived in Havana, Cuba, for the last 22 years of his life. This great
north American writer devoted part of his literary work to this country where he wrote
many of his outstanding novels and short stories, met his closest friends, drank his best
drinks and fished his biggest marlins. Places where his peculiar personality left its
trace have been carefully preserved and are visited by people from all over the world.
Located on the northwest coast of the island of Cuba, in front of the waters of the Gulf
Stream and only 15 minutes from downtown Havana, is Marina
Hemingway, considered one of
the largest and best equipped marinas in the Caribbean, in an ambiance which keeps alive
the memory of the renowned writer of "The Old Man And The Sea".
A Safe Port
Four anti-hurricane designed canals with pure seawater, capacity for 400 vessels -
including super-yachts - 100 moorings with drinking water supply, electric power, local
and international communications, round the clock protection and security. Custom house,
port authorities, laundry, showers, jacuzzi, weather forecast, ice, ship repairs, fuel,
minibar, ship chandling, sanitary, medical and other services available to seamen.
If you come on your own yacht, no visa and prior reservation is needed. Advise your arrival by channel 16 or 72 or over SSB 7462.

with 1 to 4 climatized rooms, all with private slips, air-conditioned, bathrooms,
