the Hotel
was chosen
because the
main offices
of these
important
shipbuilders,
Santander,
from Spain
were located
within this
building.
The Count of
La Mortera
was the
owner of an
important
fleet of
ships that
made many
commercial
voyages
between the
ports of
Santander
and Cuba.
